Dear Adam.

So there's this guy.

He is quite the charmer

Great manners and a love out of this world.

A perfect gentleman.

But I realized He loves me more than I can ever reciprocate. I told Him but He said He doesn't care.

He will love me till the sun looses it's shine,

He will love me until the earth kisses the stars.

Till the moon sings of its rays

I'm over here like, how can you possibly love a flawed woman?

How can a king settle for the crumbs of a servant?

But He said "I love you with an everlasting love. A love that cannot be defined. A love whose equation equals infinity".

So, although I have not much, really nothing to give this king, He still wants me.

He stretched out His hand, reached for me in my low stature, pulled me up, and changed my name from slave to friend. Lover, daughter, queen, beat of my heart, more precious than gold!

A reflection of His perfection is what He calls me.

And I chuckle, cover my eyes, and He pulls my hands off my face. Looks at me and says believe it. These are not mere words I speak to you. I need you to understand that this is who you are, now go out there and live it!

So, dear Adam..

I had been wondering how I would recognize the wolf from the sheep. Sounds obvious, but I've done a terrible job in the past since there are many dressed like the other. The standard by which I made my decisions were birth from the old wine skin that harbored who I thought I was, but now I've been made anew.

God has given me new wine skin in which  He filled with Himself. Still I reached back to my old skin and attempted to mix it, half what I knew and half God. It's no wonder I was loosing my mind. I felt my head was going to explode, I couldn't handle it but then God showed me that who I was can never be merged with who He has created me to be. Next time I'm having problems differentiating I'll refer to the description of my father, because He says you are a direct reflection of Him.

The man God is molding you to be is a replica of His unending love for a flawed church. He said He called you out from among them to lay your life down for me even when I don't deserve it. In my guilt, He called you to love me through the shackles of imperfection that mock daily. He called you to love me not like the world but like Him, and to me that's crazy! Your not superman, but you've been filled with the one whose name is above every other name. With the one who parts seas and causes dead bones to give life.

So I'll wait for you like Rachel waited for Jacob. Patiently.

No I'm not going to pause my life while I wait, because I realize as much as you're a promise for me, i'm a promise for you. A promise that was elevated from slave to daughter so that I could be worthy of His son.

When the enemy attacks my mind telling me you don't exist I'll remind him of the promise Jesus whispered to me "I'll love you till the sun looses its shine"

A love so eternal it cannot lie, so even if it  means patiently waiting to get to revelation, I'll wait in preparation.

Sincerely,
Your promise :)

"Be still and know that I AM God"

In the moments of uncertainty, we get restless because we have no blueprint to layout step by step what is going to happen next. The road to next can be very tricky, actually we make it that way.

We walk by faith and not by sight, so whenever you can't see where you're going then know that God is giving you a platform to increase your faith. It will most likely be very uncomfortable, but you will come out stronger than before.

One of the hardest responses I ever got from the Lord was "be still'.

Err...

"Are we both seeing the circumstances at hand? Can you see I’m fast approaching the end of the line?"

"All you say is 'be still' as if that changes anything"

But it does change things, just not in the way and time frame that we would like. Being still for some reason is associated with idleness which explains the reason why we don't want to be found in that season. Looking more closely into it I have discovered a few things.

Firstly, my outward work is useless if I don't have the faith to propel it to the next level. Take a seed for example, just because I plant it doesn't mean it will grow especially when I have zero faith in the one who causes the increase, God (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). I want you to take your heart off thinking that works is the ONLY way to get to where God wants you to be. Yes, faith without works is dead (James 2:20) but the action God wants you to take first is inward.

It involves you just being still, meaning not taking matters into your own hands, and moving in faith when He speaks. Just like Abraham who believed God when He said he should sacrifice his son. James 2 reminds us of how Abraham’s belief was counted onto him as righteousness. In other words, work as it relates to the bible can be described as faith in action. Abraham’s faith in God caused him to take action and that faith was what pleased God.

Secondly, the period of being still exposes the idols we have in our lives. It’s almost like a torch light that shines into the very cores of a person’s soul and reveals the truth. I am being challenged with this and I noticed I worry too much about people's perception. Oh what would they think if they knew? What if they don’t understand?

In reality their perception doesn't change the plan God has for me, it really does not matter what they think because they hold no power over my destiny. Another thing I saw in myself was that I valued being able to provide for myself rather than letting God provide for me. In other words, I was stealing God's glory while proclaiming He was my provider. He gets the glory when He provides for us, but when we take on His job and provide based off our own plans we steal His shine.

Trust me these seasons are never easy, but best believe that all the torment of uncertainty in our minds now cannot be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 says it best:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Whatever season you are in whether it’s the “still” season or not just have faith in the assurances that God has given. Faith is hanging on to God & His promises even when what you see goes against everything He has promised. Remember that we do not walk by sight rather by faith in things not seen but hoped for (Hebrews 11:1).

Now in conclusion, I want to draw your attention to Psalms 46:10:

“Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

You were created to bring glory to God. Every situation whether good or bad even if we don’t understand it will work out in God’s time, and our purpose will be fulfilled. Trust God and walk in faith as His Spirit leads. Stay blessed!

Prayer point
Lord, please help me to trust you even when I can’t see what lies ahead of me. Teach me how to let you led my life and take away any pride from my heart that may draw me away from your plan. Father give me faith like Abraham, so that I can trust you with the gifts you have given me freely knowing that your plan is perfect. All this we ask in Jesus name. AMEN!

Scarred, but not defeated

It feels like forever since I blogged. I was so happy today when God laid this word on my heart. Always felt like I should be writing more often, but I am convinced that God’s timing is precise. We seem to always have something to say, but it’s not the same as having something worth saying. I digress.

So let’s get back to the topic.

Scarred, but not defeated. There is so much power in that sentence that I just can’t contain myself right now!! Seems like the enemy has been working overtime to destroy the children of God, right?  I believe it is because Jesus is coming sooner than we think and the enemy is trying to get us on his camp. Surely, his plan has FAILED!

The enemy places hurdles in our way as we are running to make it to the end of this race called life. We are human, so sometimes we fall, trip over the hurdles and we may get wounded. Fortunately for us, God already foresaw this and gave us a chance to still continue in the race, scarred and all.

I won’t lie to you or try to sugar coat it. It’s not an easy race, and it takes the grace of God to get back into the race after you've fallen and/or been scarred.

Let me put it into perspective. There is a constant battle in both the physical and spiritual realms. When the enemy attacks us his intent is not to just scar and let us go, actually his mission is to KILL, STEAL, & DESTROY (John 10:10)

Truth be told, scars are a representation of God’s grace and mercy. I say that because the enemy doesn't hit to merely scar you, he wants to kill you. Getting scarred does not take you out of the race for eternity with God. Now, someone might argue that if God loved us why would He even allow us to get scarred in the first place? Before I dive into that, let me first clarify what a scar means.

A scar is a mark. It doesn't have to be a physical wounding to your body; it can also be an emotional wound in your mind.

We are the generation that wants to see to believe, you've probably heard the saying “seeing is believing”. Some people would never believe that the enemy is after them unless there was something tangible in front of them to support the claim. Yes, we ought to walk by faith but lets be honest, even knowing that we are still very visual. On another end, God knows us so well that He prepares well in advance for anything the enemy might throw at us.

Take me for example.

When I was younger I had mumps and it took away the functionality of one of my ears. I asked God why I had to live with the scar, and what God showed me was that the enemy wasn't just after one ear (he wanted to take me out completely). The enemy was after all my hearing so that I wouldn't be able to have faith and ultimately kill me. Now, we know faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God (Romans 10:17)

But God protected me; He permitted the scar as a reminder of His unfailing love. Without this scar I probably would have given up by now. When I think about it I see that if God was able to save me from the wickedness of the enemy, then He is able to save me from anything!

People hear the word scar and they get so uneasy, why?

Scars remind us of our inadequacies and cause us to depend on God. For some, the scar might be there to humble you from this notion that you are ‘in charge’ of your life or you can take care of yourself. It will cause you to understand that God is in charge of this battle we are fighting.

Take your scar as a reminder that God is always fighting for you. Don’t let the enemy deceive you to think that your scar disqualifies you from the race; God is greater than any scar. Every time you think about your scar let it remind you of God’s unfailing love for you. Yes, He loves you more than you can ever imagine!

Let that scar remind you that no matter what the enemy tries you are NOT leaving until God says so. Your race is NOT over until God says so.

Even though you might be scarred you still have breathe, your scar is not the end of the race. It is merely a reminder that greater is coming. You have the choice to stand up and continue this race with God in charge. Your scar DOES NOT mean you are defeated. It means the enemy sees where God is taking you and has tried to take you out so you don’t get there, but God!

God’s plan is perfect. He promised that everything will work out for the good of those that love Him, so your scar in His sight is perfect. It’s a beautiful reminder that He has an excellent plan for your life that will lead you to a glorious end. Be encouraged!

Visual Learner?

Hey guys!

First off I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who takes time to read and share this blog. I know it’s all being orchestrated by the unction of the Holy Spirit :)

I've been a bit preoccupied with some other work and believe i have been lead to share some of it with you all. I recently graduated and on my former campus there is a bible study i attend called Student Body of Christ. By God's grace, i have been able to speak at a couple of bible studies and they were recorded by our lovely tech team. The link to the videos are listed below:

Please feel free to check out other teachings from our bible study on their YouTube page. The slides i made may not be visible but if you want it just let me know, and I’ll send it to you. Also if you have a topic you want me to write about, any prayer requests, or general questions please comment or send me a message :)

Before I leave, I would like to encourage all the Christians out there that your prayers are valid. No matter how small or how short you think they are, God is always listening even to the cries our hearts silently whisper. HE is faithful.
